New Equipment
Well when I last wrote I had purchased two new lenses, well I may have a Sigma 300mm F/4 coming my way however most recently I have purchased some studio lighting equipment which includes 2 x 250w Flashguns, 1 x Silver Umbrella, 1 x Umbrella Soft box, 2 x Stands, 1 x Wireless radio trigger. I thank Dominic from Dragon Image who hooked this up for me, he is the director of Dragon Image and as it seems I will be meeting him next week with relation to a job application
I cannot wait for tomorrow to come, well technically its already here as I write this as the flash guns are being brought done from Sydney and then couriered to my door so I will be cleaning the house a bit however I think I will spend it cleaning the fridge and the spare room. Least it will be nice and clean.

Well it seems that my major in photography lies with Model s, I find that I can look at a person and its almost as if I can see there inner beauty even if they don't know it themselves. Ive seen people on the street from time to time that would look incredible in front of the camera, this happened today for instance on the tram when I was on the way to Dragon Image this afternoon, if only I had the confidence to strike up a conversation, I do have it though it depends on the situation at hand
Anyways the current feature was a photo taken at a studio shoot that I was paid to do about a week ago roughly, there were four models to shoot, I like this shot as it has a bit of an "air" to the photo, I know that may sounds weird but after looking at it a few times it seems to grow on you, I should be getting some more chances to shoot Aaron in the non to distant future
To give you a bit of background the photo of Aaron was taken with a Canon EOS-1D with the use of a Sigma APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX HSM (77mm) and a Canon 420EX Flash, we also had a 1000w Halogen light shining onto the roof to get some additional light on the subject, And the background which will create some intrigue was an ordinary white board ...interesting huh, there was a small amount of correction in Photoshop due to the yellow ting from the halogen lights, next time though I should tune my camera to the colour temperature of the lights for better results

Photo shoots - Whats next
More model shoots on the way ........however look forward to warmer weather and the opportunity to take some scenic nature and animal shots, maybe another visit to Healesville is overdue or maybe Werribee Open range zoo
Stay tuned for the results.

"Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still." - Dorothea Lange
Things have recently lifted off over the last month or two, what can I say, it seems that my career in photography is really starting to lift off however I cannot take full credit as there are some people behind the scenes
I wish to thank Maria Pau, my coach and manager, she is an incredible person and a great friend to have and I appreciate and respect her as a person, I also like to thank Joseph Sirucka for his unlimited knowledge of cameras, equipment, and techniques, I have learned so much from him and know there is so much more to go, he is an excellent person to work with and look forward to many more, he is a trustful and loyal friend.
I feel that I am on the brink at the moment, the shutter poised, the lens focused on the final outcome and the camera ready to record the actions in the making, its a weird feeling, both exhilarating and also somewhat daunting all at the same time, however whats life if you dont live it to the fullest and give everything 120% and all of your attention and hard work, photography to me is that area of my life and I dedicate myself and all my efforts on this area of my life, I look back and cannot believe that I started out with a $20 Kemmart camera and now today I shoot with a camera worth 1000x more, incredible isn't it
If someone had told me that was the case when I first picked up a camera I would have told them that they were joking and had no idea, but now that I am here I am thank full for past experiences and the future events that are yet to happen.
I also have an opportunity to change from working at my current job to moving into a position thats within the photographic industry, I have an interview next week with Dominic from Dragon Image, I look forward to meeting with him after our few conversations on the phone, he went out of his way to assist me with my lighting purchase and I highly appreciate this gesture.
